Easter is coming soon again – for many it’s a wonderful and relaxing time of the year! We at buah also love the festive atmosphere and have decided not to let the hectic hustle and bustle in the city disturb us this year. That's why this time we've thought of something very special for gifts to our loved ones: homemade Easter gifts from our stylish buah tins! These are not only practical and look good, but also have the advantage that our cans are not thrown away but rather reused sensibly. We would like to introduce you to our top 3 favorite gift ideas, some of which are not only suitable as gifts for women and men, but also for children.
1. Gift idea: Make a flower pot
Who wouldn't love some beautiful flowers in an unusual flower pot? You will be a very special eye-catcher with a self-decorated flower pot! All you really need is a waterproof and weatherproof clear coat and a brush. We personally like it with a little decoration:
That's why we have a thicker string, a small wooden heart and a hot glue gun. Last but not least, a beautiful potted flower and some extra soil are a must.
First we coat our buah can with the clear varnish so that the flower pot is shiny and a little more robust. After the clear coat has dried, we go around the top edge of the can with the glue gun. We wrap our thick cord around there a few times and leave an approx. 5cm long end to which we knot our wooden heart. At the end we fill the can with soil and plant the potted flower. And so we not only upcycled our cans wonderfully, but also made a lovely gift that is perfect for the start of spring!
2. Gift idea: storage container
For our beautiful and practical storage containers - we love them in the bathroom with a lid, for storing cotton pads or other hygiene items - you also only need a few materials.
This time we decided to design our buah can in colors that immediately make you think of spring. For this we chose an acrylic paint in strong green. After we coated the can and let it dry, we thought of something special: We would like to decorate our cans with beautiful Easter motifs using Window Colors colors. A bright pink goes particularly well with our green cans, which we use to paint our cans with small flowers. With the resealable lid, our storage container is perfect for all sorts of things. Our tin is also great for storing pasta or cereal in the kitchen.
3. Newspaper holder
We also think our DIY newspaper holder is a great and somewhat unusual idea, which I'm sure none of your friends or family members have in their home yet. The ideal gift for your dad or grandparents' Sunday newspaper! For our buah newspaper stand, this time we leave the cans completely in their original design. The only thing you need is a glue gun and a good pair of scissors.
We use 7 of our large tins for the gift. First we remove the lids from the cans and then remove the bottoms from the cans so that only “pipes” remain. We take three cans for the base of our newspaper holder and glue them parallel to each other. We stack three more cans on top, which we then glue onto the bottom three cans in a staggered manner. Finally, we put the seventh can on top to give the whole thing a more individual shape. Voilà, you now have a modern and beautiful magazine rack!
We personally love homemade gifts and are happy when our buah cans are not thrown away but are used again. Our ideas are also easy to implement and don’t require a lot of extras.
